Part 2:

The second source which is the article “How FDR’s New Deal Harmed Millions of Poor People” by Jim Powell discussed the problems and failings that poor communities faced during this period of time. Common people were actual victims of that situation. During this new deal program, taxes got so high to be paid. FDR put taxes on every little thing that didn’t matter was it a cigarette, beers, or even candy. They all taxes were paying mostly by middle-class people and the poor. Taxes were exceeding their limits and were getting high day by day and people were losing their savings because it was all going to the taxes. During world war 2, it got more hard for the public to spend on themselves. Because it all went to the government. New Deal taxes were the major reason for unemployment because whatever people earned, it all went to taxes and if someone had a business that meant, they’d got to pay high taxes and remained with less money for growth and jobs. So that was one of the reasons, they didn’t really hire any for more jobs.  The third article is a YouTube video about Green New Deal that’s related to the program in the past. This video is talking about how the green new deal is setting up for the Public for more jobs and democrats are the ones who proposed this idea to congress which like always republicans are opposed off. In this green deal, democrats proposed the idea of giving more jobs to people and increase worker rights. Republicans are not really happy and criticized it and try to mislead civilians by saying that it’s more like Socialism rather than beneficial.  Mr. McConnell said that he and his party will bring this issue to the Senate floor that how risking it could be. Anchors more said that this project asks for a lot of money, probably affects climate changes, and needs more buildings/space for this infrastructure. They added more than democrats need to be bold about it and scream the same way Mr. Trump and his party does when they have something big for congress to be approved.

Part 3:

This topic is really complicated because everyone has their opinion like agree or disagree and as this article is stating a true point about this historical event and yes I agree with the author because everything has its two sides good and bad. But it’s true that these programs indeed helped its country. However, as I said that something went bad with this deal. And those got discussed in this article by Jim Powell. Yes, poor people were the actual target of this program. Because they had to paid taxes. At first, obviously, it was good but it got affected after seen that a lot of people had lost their jobs, high taxes, and unionization.  President Roosevelt and his cabinet never really had a master plan but a lot of programs and laws that just imposed on the public which later created big problems. During this period of time. mostly white people were working in steel mills, plants, and other Industrial workshops and didn’t allow other races to entered and work with them which caused a big problem for the country in the way of unemployment. They just work with people like them and helped people like them. The middle-class public couldn’t really be saved for themselves because whatever they’d earned, had to go in taxes. That’s why most corporations got scared to hire people because of high wages and less production. National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA)  made people paid more taxes than their actual product made and  Agricultural Adjustment Act( AAA)  forced Americans to pay more for food, In other words, pay tax. As I talked about in my first source that how FDR signed a bill from Congress to allowed the federal government to made dams along the Tennessee river but it flooded very badly and hurt thousands of people. African Americans who were sharecroppers, didn’t own property and got no compensation from its state government. In these New Deal programs, $1.6 billion to $5.3 billion federal taxes were paid between 1933 and 1940. The government mostly cared about the west and east side of its country but they didn’t really care about the south where they (democrats) won. Social Security Act put taxes on payrolls made it more expensive for employers to hire people, which discouraged hiring.  As we all aware of these programs that how they were very hurtful like National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA), reduced the production and made wages were higher than normal market levels that pushed back employers to hire new people and because of this act, more than 500,000 African Americans lost their jobs. The Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) harmed African American farmer tenants because the government reduced the production. These didn’t increase the number of jobs in the economy, because the money spent on New Deal projects came mostly from taxpayers who had less money to spend on their daily basic needs.

The third source (video)  is kind of similar to my second article because in the second it says that how taxes harmed poor people, basically money was the reason and same with the YouTube green new deal video that, for this program, the government need to have a lot of money. I don’t think it’s going to harm the country’s economy because, in the end, it’ll be beneficial for its own country, people and  “This deal is a statement of values and statement of principles”. Republicans no doubt got a good chance to shade democrats because of what happened a decade ago when democrats had a bill to pass but they got a lot of issues with Pelosi (the speaker at that time) didn’t agree on and the same is happening now that democrats and activists want the thing to happen fast and they don’t really know that congress works step by step, they just want it to happen asap.  And as we all know how our president loves to misinterpret “weather” into climate. Some Republican party Senate’s know climate has been changing and how it’s effecting Miami and Colorado but they never did anything for that and yet they think that green deal could be affected. I’ll second what anchors said that when trump wants to do something, he does for example like the travel ban, people thought that this is really ridiculous idea but he did he became president. When he wanted to build a  million-dollar wall, he asked for huge money same as the thing democrats have to do something like this and be bold To people.

Part 4:

“New Deal taxes were major job destroyers during the 1930s, prolonging unemployment that averaged 17%. Higher business taxes meant that employers had less money for growth and jobs.”

“His National Industrial Recovery Act forced consumers to pay above‐market prices for goods and services, and the Agricultural Adjustment Act forced Americans to pay more for food. Moreover.”

“Excise taxes, personal income taxes, inheritance taxes, corporate income taxes, holding company taxes and so‐called “excess profits” taxes all went up.”
