Wi-Fi in Hotels?

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/07/business/free-hotel-wi-fi-is-increasingly-on-travelers-must-have-list.html?ref=topics&_r=0

Throughout time, hotel seeks to change for the better for the customers. Wi-Fi is a must for travelers. Years ago, high brand hotels charges approx. $20-$30 for wi-fi which is such a high rate in my opinion. Most of the complaints were coming from the wi-fi charges. But nowadays, many hotels are changing the policy and offering free wi-fi for its customers if they join their program. Wi-fi makes guest more satisfied and stay within the property more.

Geoffrey Zakarian Drops Out Of Donald Trump’s New Hotel

I chose this article because this controversy has been on the news lately. I personally think that Donald Trump should’ve thought about what he was going to say because making that statement about Latinos. This act did not only affected his political career but also his career as a business man. This event will impact the reputation of his hotels.

In this article, Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, who worked at several hotels that belonged to Donald Trump, announced that he will not be part of the opening of a new hotel.  The Chef’s decision of not being part of this project will reflect in the future and it also affected the decision of several employees who are from Hispanic background.

Digital Interview for the Conrad Hotel

http://hirevue.force.com/E2Candidate/articles/How_To/On-Demand-Interview-Video-Tutorial-E2-candidate?retURL=〈=en_US

I just took a digital interview for a position at the Conrad Hotel, and wanted to share my experience. I did not like it! It wasn’t a live interview where I was speaking with another person, just a recording of yourself answering a few questions. The link above explains the process.

I just didn’t feel like the recording was a great representation of who I am. I didn’t look or sound like myself, which made me uncomfortable. I definitely prefer speaking and engaging with a real live person!!

I just thought I’d share this experience as I am sure more companies are going to implement this hiring process.
