As I am currently taking a course under the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, I thought this was an interesting outlook on what other options are available not only for myself, but for those who are looking to expand their knowledge of wine in the business of food and beverage.
I have to meet Madeline Puckette, Wine Folly’s editor, one day. She has such a creative touch and knows what people want. That said, her post here did not give me what I want. She neglected to identify the Society of Wine Educators as an option and course of study. One of the people responded to her post and mentioned the omission.
Other wise this is a pretty sound description of what is needed to earn the certificates. Good luck as you pursue your WSET levels.
I agree with Professor Goodlad. However speaking of education courses did you see the ICE wine intensive course? It’s 10 weeks but you come out as a level 2 certified somm. I mean its $10,000 but I feel like it could be worth it. Especially if you consider how much money you are going to spend on the benchmark wines.
