Ecotourism main’s purpose is to educate the tourists about the ecological conservation, and to focuses more on individual values. The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) defines ecotourism as “responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well being of local people’’ basically ecotourism deals with living parts of a natural environment where flora, cultural heritage, and fauna are the main attractions in a tourist place. In addition, as the book Intro to Hospitality mention, responsible ecotourism program includes the minimization of negative impact of the environment providing positive financial benefits for conservation and for local people (Pg.364).

Knowing the importance of the ecotourism I highly recommend to all tourists to visit the Brooklyn Bridge Park because it has a little bit of everything related with ecotourism. Brooklyn Bridge Park has become one of the most favorite tourist activities in New York City. Its view across the tallest building in the city makes this place special, but the uniqueness of this park is the natural of the flora and fauna its environment provides. This park has many conservation ideas, for example, the park floor is made by granite that was reused from Roosevelt Island’s bridge. Visitors can get in the water by Kayaking on the East River which makes the tourists enjoy the natural view of the river. Another natural factor of this amazing park is its benches; they all are made from old yellow pine trees. According Green Team Brooklyn Park a corp. group of volunteer beautify the park by planting, mulching, and removing plants which provides an essential horticultural care to the park (brooklynbridgepark.org).

Brooklyn Bridge Park is huge on saving energy. This park encourages people to travel by walking, biking, taking the ferry, or taxi water throughout the park in order to save gas, energy, and decrease pollution. This park also provides a sustainable energy source there are a lot of storage tanks built underground where it holds thousands gallons of water for the purpose of conservation. This park is all surrounded by natural environment. The park also has an energy center that has solar energy panel that provides all the energy needed in the park (brooklynbrigepark.org).

All these elements provide a complete package for tourism, especially for ecotourism. Tourism is a dynamic travel where travelers enjoy especially because they are outside their regular environment. Therefore, I suggest all tourists to visit all ecotourism places because it deals with living parts of a natural environment where flora, cultural heritage, and fauna are the main attractions in a tourist place.
