Frankenstein vs Victor

When reading chapters 10 to 16, we learned that Frankenstein had feelings and emotions like everybody else. He just wanted a companion to spend the rest of his life with but Victor destroys that by not creating one. Victor Frankenstein starts creating another creature but halfway through the process he starts regretting it and destroys it. After that Frankenstein the monster kills Victor’s wife and best friend. Victor was afraid that if he created another creature she would turn bad and go against Victor. Before the experiment of creating the creature Frankenstein told Victor that if he created a companion for him he would go far away with her and live happily ever after. He also told Victor that if he doesn’t create a companion for him than bad things would happen to Victor’s family and he kept his word. Frankenstein just wanted to be loved but everyone would just see him as a monster and would treat him like one. Even though Victor was his creator he wanted nothing to do with him. He saw Frankenstein just like the other humans and for him it was just an experiment. He should have treated Frankenstein with love and respect just like family member should be treated and if he would have done that nothing bad would have happened.

One Response to Frankenstein vs Victor

I agree with you on how the monster wanted a companion to show him love and passion yet at the same time he shouldn’t threaten Victor to creator one, by saying that bad things will happen to his family. Its Victors fault for not being there for his creation, he just care about himself. I felt that Victor killed the monsters partner because he was felt jealous. Victor should have showed love for the monster, sucks how he ignore the monster. For a monster, hes pretty smart to figure out the meaning of life and what consist of.
