The discourse community that would benefit from my research would be young adults, ages 16-24. My research surrounded the idea that the causes of mass incarceration are rooted in the prison industrial complex and the oppression of people of color. This discourse community would benefit greatly because this generation tends to be less involved in government, learning about this issue could promote their sociopolitical safety. Most individuals of this age group have heard about mass incarceration and the PIC but have never taken out the time to do their research and find out ow it can affect them. This community may be more concern about it being the time period we are in now, which increases the importance for them to read my reaserch and do research themselves. A method i would try is using a social media template, social media is popular amoung our agge group which would attract their attention.
