My research question is, “Why is College in America so Expensive?”

I became interested in my question because college debt causes a financial problem for millions of Americans. There are people that can go into debt for over a decade and not everyone that has a lot of debt is going to earn enough money to pay it off quickly. I am interested in this research question because I think that it should be easier to get a college education. Many jobs today require you to have a degree even if they are not high wage jobs. Information I expect to find from my research question is that college is expensive because there is a high demand for it. If everyone were to go to college for free it would cost the taxpayers a lot of money, and people don’t mind being in debt as long as they get a degree. If people pay for college themselves, taxes will be lower, and colleges are probably very expensive to maintain.
