I prepare for my academic journey by ensuring all my coursework is on track. I actively seek clarification by asking questions and attending tutoring sessions. Engaging with individuals who share similar academic interests is also important to me. I’ve joined a club where I feel comfortable and have a sense of belonging, which helps enhance my college experience. I believe that college is truly what you make of it. If you surround yourself with people who make it enjoyable, that’s the perspective you’ll carry throughout your college years. For example, in my BIO 1101 class, I’ve made a friend with whom I regularly discuss the material. We support each other, ensuring we both succeed. Building understanding and friendships in the same field makes navigating college much more rewarding.

In Session Eight, I learned a lot about how important it is to plan out my course schedule carefully and how to navigate the advisement and registration process effectively. One practice that I’m definitely going to use in my own advisement and registration process is making a list of my goals and priorities before meeting with an advisor.
