My name is Brianna Edwards. I'm in my first sophomore year in City Tech. I'm not sure on what I want to do yet but I'm thinking of being an illustrator. I've drawn on paper and digital media. I also want to tell my own story through drawings. I still feel like I have many things to learn so I'm looking forward to see how far I can go.
I'm also interested in animation. I have never properly animated before but I've grown up on them and I can't just let them go. So I still watch them now.

I learned that I need a some kind of relationship for either the background or foreground for my object to pull of a depth of field. I also learned that for the sometimes the regular camera’s depth of field is not as strong as the app’s. However the app can too make mistakes like sometimes making only a certain part of a background blurry.

I pulled this off by zooming in around 90% and placed these two objects about a feet away from each other. I was able to get the camera to focus by tapping the screen to the object I want and taking the shot shortly after before the auto focus activates again.
Original edited version on Flickr re-edited (exposure: +0.20, Contrast: +15, Shadows: -16)
This is one of my favorite shots I took. It’s a close up and high angle picture of a tree stump. In the original, it already had a lot of bright exposure from the sun. So I thought it would be a good for light vs dark. On the Flicker version I already edited it. As you can see there was a lot of pure black. After I learned more about what and what not to do with edits, I made some adjustments by decreasing the black, shadow and contrast.
I used “Slow Shutter Fast Cam” to take this image. I had the settings on Capture mode: Automatic, Shutter speed: 4, Zoom-in speed:0 and Focus Auto: 0. I secured my camera by placing it on the floor and use my tablet case to support the device upright. My only problem with the app so far is the focus function. I didn’t make the background as sharp as I want it to be.
