I used my air pads in the case. I feel the photo in the kitchen is a little better than the photo I did in the bathroom.

The kitchen shot is more lively and I think it is the contrast between the black part of the case and the counter. This contrast does begin to animate the negative space around the case.
In general, try to work by a window or outside with daylight. Better light will also help.
