Split Lighting, with the light covering half the face. 
Broad Lighting, with the light covering visible ear. and less features. 
Rembrandt Lighting, with the light covering the face to a point where a triangle of light is visible on opposite cheek. 
Short Lighting, with the light covering the facial features, and less with the visible ear.
Personally speaking, creating the triangle from Rembrandt lighting was the most difficult task; in comparison, I feel like short lighting where most of the features are highlighted are my more favorable results.
I agree that your example of split light is really working. To get better Rembrandt light turn a little towards the window until you can see the key triangle on the side of the face away from the window.
