Lighting

  • direct light
  • direct back light
  • direct side light
  • diffused side light
  • diffused back light
  • diffused front light
The top three pictures show the light directly hitting the object whereas the bottom three pictures shows the light hitting the object but at an angle. I didn’t really know how to show diffused light so I tilted the phone to show the light as if it’s coming from an angle.

    Your direct light examples are good.

    The directional diffused examples are actually in direct light as well. If the light casts a sharp shadow it is direct. Directional diffused light is light where there is a clear sense of where it is coming from but the shadows are soft.
