These photos were envisioned to have it be perceived as white and as black as possible. To capture the white, I had to expose it to not only sunlight, but also flash to capture the more “darkened” areas. To capture the black, I had to take a picture in a darker room with little exposure to light. The major challenges were the shadows and reflective properties of light.
The black portfolio did get darker. The white one did not change. You need to change the exposure in your camera. With a cameraphone, tap the screen and drag the sun icon upwards to make the photo lighter.
