Motion Blur and Frozen Motion

The first image showcases a shot of frozen motion which was shot at an ISO of 1600, and an exposure time of 1/500 of a second. The model, Maria threw her scarf above her and the picture makes it look like she is doing a trick of some sort.

The second picture showcases blurred motion which was shot at an ISO of 100 with an exposure time of 1/4 of a second. Maria was a part of this picture as well and was twirling her scarf with herself staying relatively still.

1/500 a second creates a kind of magic here. The scarf looks suspended in a way it never looked to anyone standing there at the time. The low angle of view was a good choice.

Notice in your blurred motion photo how the people further from the camera appear sharper than Maria. The effect of motion blur appears more pronounced for objects and people closer to the camera.
