To help you organize your video’s process you can use a storyboard. A storyboard is a series of sketches – like a comic book – that help visualizing your film. It shows different elements of your story:
- your timeline, the way you are going to tell the story from beginning to end.
- your location(s), how you are going to show and frame your background.
- your character(s), the way they are in the frame and how they are going to look.

Here is a famous example of how a storyboard can structure a movie sequence. This is a storyboard from a scene in the movie “The Birds” by the great director Alfred Hitchcock. See how detailed the drawing is next to the scene images.
