DEJ due 11/7

After reading the essay titled “Annoying Way People Use Sources” by Kyle D. Stedman,  I further learned that there is a vast amount of personalities in the world and those personalities come with many personal preferences. Afterword, to predict and fix any possible issue that the audience may dislike about the writing. Also I learned that using quotes in writings is great as, it adds more meaning to the purpose of the text. Furthermore, that quotations should come with an explanation summarizing the main point conveyed in the quote. If you throw in a quotation without an explanation, it ruins the flow of the passage and most likely it’ll disturb the audience. In addition I realized that I can find an error in my essay by reading out my essay out loud and seeing if there is a slip in the wording of the sentence. Afterword, I can then adjust the sentence to make it fit better.

Going back to the four different genre sources on technology that I researched for Unit 2, I discovered a large amount of information explained at different genre view points. Throughout reading all four sources, the quote that best summarizes the central idea that I’m trying to explain is from a blog titled “The Evolution Of Technology Past, Present, And Future”, published by Donny Lamey on January 5, 2018. The author states, “technology is a frontier on its own, continuing to evolve, grow and reshape our world. As we continue to explore and expand technology the more life will change, creating, creating new habits and forming new ways of working together”. A clear example example of that is  online learning. With the school system being force to change their normal yearly routine is a unexpected change but, a change that can be adapted to. Online learning was introduced as the prominent replacement for the time being, this ensures that safe distance is kept among each other and helps against the rate of transmission of the virus.

Unit 3 Proposal due on 11/7

Throughout Unit 2, the most important thing I learned was to research and understand a topic portrayed at different angles, for example genres. You could collect your information from one single genre source, however, you would be limiting your range of knowledge. By understanding the topic further from different genres, it gives you a even more direct understanding of the main point and from there you could discover a personal preference in the selection of genres. That is what I want to teach to the individuals who are unsure or interested about expanding their knowledge on technology, it’s best to learn from multiple angles and after to display your gained knowledge in a way that best represents you. I am planning to write in an infographic genre because after researching different genres to write in. I prefer the way an infographic design displays its information, it combines clear written  information with a wide range of interacting visuals to add focus to the content. I intend to get started by utilizing both “canva.com” and “piktochart.com” and to learn how to operate both websites, these are websites that specialize in developing infographic designs. From there I’ll decide which website gives the best services and go with that one. I will use this to construct my template for my infographic design on advancements in technology and its affect in society in the past 5 decades. I don’t have major concerns about finishing this project, just a small concern about learning how to operate the controls of the website. Also another concern about fitting all the information together in the design, without making it look messy. My research topic involves a good amount of information regarding many innovations of technology created in the past fifty years. But, if it gets to that point then I’ll adjust to the size of the template that is given.

Written Assignment due on 11/4

Following the completion of my “Unit 2 Essay” on technological advances created throughout time, I decided that people who are interested in pursuing a career in technology or unsure about an interest in technology should hear about my research. These people in particular should read my research because first, the point of life is to find your purpose and our interests have an affect on discovering what our purpose is. Our interests help define the person that we are and what we prefer to do with our time. Now going back to the people with an interest in technology or a possible interest in technology, these people should clarify their interest because they could discover their purpose in life within it. Everybody in life wants to do something they love as a life profession and personal interests help guide us into that reality. However, I may need to narrow down my audience to a specific age group between 18 years old to 40 years old. The reason as to why is because people within this age group, including myself, are at the age where we need to figure out what we need to do with our lives and that’s my focus. To be honest, I’m not sure yet which genre I should use to reach the audience, there are many genres I can use to express my research. But generally, I believe an article or a time line would be a good option to explain to the audience the information I learned in Unit 2.
