Job Opportunity – Student Engineering Internship

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking student engineering interns, with applications due by 3/18. Opportunities exist to participate in this competitively paid internship throughout New York and NYC. Responsibilities include assisting in conducting investigation of existing, alternative or new engineering design, performing cost estimates, and taking field measurements.

Training – DOB Scholars Applications Due 1/16

The NYC Department of Buildings is focused on the growth and success of students interested in the architecture, engineering, and construction fields.  The DOB Scholars Program is a free, weekly, seminar series hosted at City Tech for CUNY students to network with each other and DOB Employees in various fields. This program is exclusive to CUNY schools solely as we are invested in uplifting CUNY students and fostering a strong community between DOB and CUNY.  Lectures will be given by Department of Buildings’ Subject Matter Experts in various fields such as Architectural Plan Examination, Structural Engineering, Construction Site Inspections, and more! 

The programming takes place in the Spring 2023 semesters on Wednesdays 6-7:30pm. Sessions will be held in person at City Tech’s campus.  The first session will be February 8th. See attached for information.

Training – Clemson University Summer Historic Preservation Institute in Charleston, SC

Do you have a passion for old places? Are you interested in a career working to preserve, learn from, and interpret Historic buildings and landscapes? The Clemson University Summer Historic Preservation Institute invites undergraduate students to see first-hand the kinds of work historic preservationists do, all while immersing themselves in Charleston’s unique history, architecture, and culture. This intensive three-day experience includes tours and site visits to some of Charleston’s most iconic historic sites. Attendees will experience both the diversity of the historic places and voices that constitute Charleston’s shared history and the diversity of projects and careers that make up the field of historic preservation.  Space is limited to eighteen students.
