Evans’ approaches to photography, in which includes the subway photos show a sense of normal life. He wanted to show the life of an American that was going through hardship, in which he thought that people taking the subway was a terrific way to show exactly that. His approach to photography is so subtle, to show the lives of an American and expression they made in a train. Compare to the riders of today and the riders of the depression era, it pretty much the same expression that people make in the train. The only difference is that the time era, the clothing on their back and the layout of the train and how times changes the appearances of the things around people but not the fact that an expression will last for eternity.
