I believe the way Walker Evens photographed people that were unaware was great and different. It showed the riders actual facial expression and how they felt during the depression era. It was a different because they were candid photographs. I do see a similarity in subway riders today and during the depression era, with the different facial expressions but the only difference is that in the photographs people are not using their technological devices or have headphones on, now you will see most people with their technological devices but with similar facial expressions especially in New York where people’s facial expressions most of the time seem to be serious, annoyed, or angry.
