Ka Yat. HW #2: Food and Coffee in the Civil War

What I found interesting is that the soldiers drank coffee and cooked at the battlefield. Before I read this article, I haven’t thought about that they will carry a cauldron or kitchenware to cook. I think the soldiers in the past would receive were water and dried food. It is because dried food can be stored for a long time without rotting; Dried food also easy to use and carry, and no need to cook which save some time for them to get some rest.

I can’t live without chocolate. I like the taste and the texture I get when I eat it.

The food provided basic energy to the soldiers. But the coffee gives the soldiers a spiritual energy. ~

  3. I also love chocolate very much!

  4. Selene Soto says:

I love eating chocolate. If I have some chocolate in my bag I feel so happy.

  5. Carrying dried food is one thing but eating it must have been hard because to me hardtack sounds like an unappetizing hard cracker. So coffee along with it wound be divine on the battlefield.
