Weng HW 1: Photography, Selfies, and Cindy Sherman

Photography can consider as a tool for storing pieces of memory, sometimes when you find a gorgeous view you might just take a quick picture of it. Therefore, you can remember this scene. The image can represent thousands of words, as well as demonstrated a special mood that words couldn’t be described. The beauty of the picture is that people tend to have various concepts toward one piece of the image. In the modern-day, selfies have become our daily basis. All we need to do is taken out our phone. Looking at the Instagram you will observe that lots of people post hundreds of self-portraits. Selfies can be defined as the way that helps you preserve your outlook at one specific moment. For example, you took a photo during your childhood, then years after when you grow up look at the changes made you realize time really fly. Photos help to recall the memory.

The Artist Cindy Sherman’s photos give me a sense of creepy, the face, particularly her eyes and the way she acts is kind hopeless. Especially the one with a parrot on her shoulder trying to pinch her ear with her despairing face, it gives me a sense of feeling that is like a tiger hunting for its prey.
