Hi everyone,! My name is Bhone Kyaw but I go by Lawrence. Yes, this is me.
I am not sure what field I want to pursue my career in; I’m still trying to decide on my major. This summer is my final semester for an Associate Degree as a Dental Lab student. I have always been interested in a business major, but I will lose all of my credits if I transfer to a business major now. It’s a huge leap of faith and a huge decision to switch majors at this point in my education. Anyways, a little bit of my background, I am originally from Myanmar and moved to NYC in 2017. It was not easy for me at all, moving to another country without knowing the language. I didn’t know how to speak English, but here I am now; I made it. I like to play soccer, hang out with my friends, late-night driving when I have free time, and playing FIFA.
I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and participating in this Engish 1121 course.
Wow! I can’t even imagine what it’s like coming to a new country and not being able to speak the language. Good for you! And maybe you can get a Business Degree… later :-).
