For my second networking event, I had the pleasure to interview Ms. Noelia Pinta, an Advertising designer graduated from Citytech, who happen to be my friend, and being born in the same country in which I grew up and love very much, Argentina.
Noelia graduated from Citytech in 2006, with a major in Art and Advertising, which was the former name of the program I’m doing now.
She is now working as a full time employee in the TV Studio of the Universal Church, an International organization with branches in more than 200 countries around the world, and which owns the second largest TV station in Brazil, TV Record.
According to Noelia, as soon as she graduated from College, she started as an Intern in the Daily News, and then at Interior Design Magazine, which she found very pleasing. After her internships she worked as a freelancer for a time, and then, planning and designing a Real Estate Magazine from the scratch.
After that, she got the job in which she is working now, mixing her knowledge of Graphic Design with some new Broadcasting Experiences.
According to her, a normal working day, consists in organizing materials for the TV program that’s going to be recorded at night, edit testimonials, prepare questions for interviews, design static screens to be used in live and recorded programs, summarize testimonials interviews and design themes to be used in Character Generator software for Broadcast Production. She also helps with the layout for the live videos used on Facebook and other social media, as well, with some small marketing branding design for special campaigns at the Church, such as T-shirt printing and logo creation; a very busy job.
Even, with so many tasks, Noelia told me that her actual job is very laid down. Eventually, this calm environment get very stressing due to last minute demands, which also made her get used to work under pressure.
She is very proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop, as well, as other Adobe suite software. Also, due to her actual occupations, she had to learn how to deal with broadcasting dedicated software, such as: CG for Character Generator functions.
Noelia, as any Graphic Designer, is always looking for new knowledge in her field, and finds inspiration in design websites and magazines in order to get information and assimilate new trends. Her biggest challenges at this time are acquiring new software skills for video edition, which are very useful in the field she is working at present.
Even, enjoying a quiet and familiar style of life, her goals in the medium term are to be able to open her own company and start her way as an entrepreneur in the Graphic Design and Printing field. She enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends, as well as the movies and enjoying life.
Thanks, Noelia for this wonderful interview.
