Journal 8 – Always communicate

One of the most important things that I have learned in this internship is that, people prefer to know what’s going on, even if its’ not good. We had some misunderstandings at the AIR Office, exactly, because of this.

Due to multiple reasons, this semester had been a very rough one, and sometimes that translated as being late to the office, and having to be absent once. Dr. Tammie was very contemplative about this, but what she emphasized is that we need to communicate beforehand. Being a non-paid internship, they have been more flexible with our schedule, and even gave us some time to work in our personal projects, but they were very clear on that matter. If you are going to be late, or miss the session for some reason you need to inform with anticipation.

So, I learned in that It’s better to ask for permission, than being sorry later.
