Crisis Text Line

Crisis Text Line is free, 24/7 support for those in crisis. Text CUNY to 741741 from anywhere in the US to text with a trained Crisis Counselor. Crisis Text Line trains volunteers to support people in crisis. Read the PDF for all the necessary information.


BFA Annual Student Showcase

The BFA Annual Student Showcase is returning this Spring. This juried exhibit is meant to showcase the very best work produced by our COMD students during the FALL 20 and Spring 21 semesters. Just like last time, work will be judged in 7 different disciplines including, Graphic Design, Photography, Motion, Illustration, Advertising, Web, and Fine Art. We will be asking for volunteer jurors and holding an informational session later in the semester.

This semester, as part of the college wide Gen. Ed. Theme CONNECTED, and in an effort to keep us all connected, COMD is inviting you to participate in a celebration of the life and work of Gordon Parks. Please consider creating an assignment, big or small, for your class that is inspired by his work. There will be an online exhibit of the best work of these assignments in April.

The Gordon Parks Themed Exhibition is open to all to all work, big or small, inspired the work of this visionary creator. Please join in this department wide effort to keep us all connected, and share in the dialogue with your students. Full Details and Free Resources below!

Submission Guidelines:

All digital image files for print and documentation must meet the following specifications:

 • High res JPEG 

• RGB color mode 

• No larger than 5 MB 

• Longest side between 2400 – 4800 pixels 

For Video & URL Submissions: 

• Provide 1 high quality still for EACH video or URL. Follow the above specifications. 

• For these entries, submit images as large as possible from the video (usually 1920 pixels wide). 

For Integrated Campaigns: 

• Provide at least 1 image of EACH campaign piece. Follow the above specifications. 

• For video work within the campaign, submit images as large as possible from the video (usually 1920 pixels wide). 

For Three-Dimensional Submissions: 

• Provide no more than 3 images. Follow the above specifications. Or provide a link to video documentation. 

For Flat work, Painting, or Drawing Submissions: • Provide well-lit, digital photographs or high quality scans. Follow the above specifications. 

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING VIDEO SUBMISSIONS All files must meet the following specifications:

 • 1920×1080 (16:9) 

• MP4 

• No slate, color bars 

• Audio peaks at -6db
