In physics reflection is the throwing back by body or surface of light heat and others. Other than that, I think that reflection has big role in human’s personality and Human’s reflection is expressed by their actions. For example: if child has parents, which support him financially, have great relationship with each other, have a lot of family time and parents which help child to get education, child will become successful, kind, gentle, hardworking, sociable, well educated and others. These all resalts are called reflection which is fully depended on parent’s attentions for child (in most cases). Another example would be that, if child was around society which did not care about their future and did not study at all, child will do the same as society he is living around.
We might seek out space for reflection when we express our self’s to people who we are around (parents, brother, sister, friends). We should show them what we are and what we will do for them. For example: if my brother will ever get bullied, I will defend him even if I would need to damage someone physically (it might not be the best example, but I just want to make clear my point to everyone who is reading this). Not only that. If my little sister will need my help for homework, I will help them and explain every single detailes they need to know, to understand the homework. If my friends would need to borrow some money, I would give it to them, I trust them and I know that there is no chance they will use me for money, because I know them for very long time and we have very good chemistry. That’s my REFLECTION which my parents taught me since I was a child and no matter what, I will make them proud and happy. That’s how I seek out a space of reflection and what would it look like.
Thanks, Luka, for getting all of us to think about what reflection can mean to us. You are a reflection of the values, rules, experiences, etc, you grew up with, or of your parents who set these things up for you. It’s really not much different than that physics definition you share.
What if we think about being reflective? how different is that?
