What is the importance of “the pit of the neck at the bottom of the throat?”
In the examples, the pit seems so small and like a minuscule part of the body.
Is is always important to look out for it when drawing?
Hello Sabrina-
Great question the pit in the throat also called the Suprasternal notch, is very important to look out for. It is an important measuring point and it also show the directionality of the head and neck. Note how it is formed by the jugular and the thyroid… look in a mirror what what happens to it as you change head and neck positions.
