– Title is a bit long, consider “Student Mental Health: Reacting to an ignorant professor”
– Intro needs grammatical clean-up, consider: Many professors think students’ lack of class participation or missing/late assignments is related to laziness and disrespect. One of my professors often says something to the effect of “Many, well, most of you are not doing your work. You know who you are. This class is full of procrastinators.” He then points out the number of students who were able to complete their work. Contrary to his opinion, a trend of low academic performance from students is often an indicator of mental health problems. Comments like the one my professor makes are damaging to a person with poor mental health. They can exacerbate depression and anxiety. However, education for professors and utilization of resources by students can help combat this issue.
– For all squares: titles aren’t directive. Imagine a person skips the introduction of your infographic, the titles should tell them exactly what to expect in each square, and, if they skip the body paragraph in every square, the titles together should tell them the overall message/purpose of the infographic based on the sections it presents and their order
– First square: take out “mainly.” The term is used twice.
– Second square: makes more sense to make that the first square. It outlines the problem for CUNY clearly. This sentence is a little confusing: Many Professors have not had mental health education training but they may have positive attitudes toward mental health that helps the student to care. After “training,” I’m not sure how that point is related to the goal of your infographic (to encourage training for professors).
– Back to the first white square: You could include this information in the introduction after, “Many professors think the lack of participation or missing/late assignments is related to laziness and disrespect.” to give context about the problem before going into the specific example about the professor.
– All squares: the chosen order and the connection between each square are unclear. How are they each connected to each other? And, based on these connections, what order should they come in? Since the main problem is professor training, that should probably come first (not last) after the original blue square that explains the problem at CUNY. Then, “Understanding and compassion” (the results of training), then “getting help” (even with prof. training, students are also responsible for their mental health.” Then, I don’t know how you’ll connect “at risk” to the rest of the info, but that seems the most tangential in relation to everything else.

This is a great example of the presentation genre, but it is another person’s work. Make sure to include your own information, following the “rules” of this presentation (clear, instructive titles, bullet points with mostly evidence and short points, not too much text on a slide, consistent design throughout, visuals and graphs) to make sure your info is presented successfully

This is a great example of an academic essay, but it is another person’s work. Make sure to include your own information, following the “rules” of this genre if you choose to keep it. However, this is a time intensive genre, and I recommend choosing something with a lower barrier to entry (presentation, infographic, podcast, video, poster, etc.)

Kevin Martinez [0:00:00]: First of all Russian stock market isn’t really in its prime. In fact, it’s gone down 50 percent. In an article written by Ivan Pereira titled, Western companies cutting ties to Russia has limited effect, experts say, it claims “Ikea shut down all Russian stores and production operations. Microsoft and Apple have ceased all sales, including game consoles and phones, in the country as well.” Russia’s economy is currently going downhill with military prices and, as this graph from the Statista Research department depicts, inflation is going up. They state, “As of April 1, 2022, the year-over-year inflation rate in Russia was measured at 16.7 percent, up from 15.7 percent one week prior. The growth in consumer prices was caused by the war in Ukraine and subsequent international sanctions on Russia.” So not only is Russia’s military suffering financially but their own people are as well due to the costs of inflation.

Nice inclusion of photos in your op-ed. To add to this genre edit (since it still seems like an op-ed), are you able to make a visual of a climate clock, what we can expect over the 7 years if nothing is done?
