“City Limits” by Colson Whitehead

The written Piece in “City Limits” by Colson Whitehead is a fascinating experience of living life in the big city of NYC. He brings up many experiences and events that he remembers from living in NYC.  He also mentions in his own way how the city is so alive, how it is watching us everyday, and it is always changing. Commercial areas having thriving mom and pop stores that you used to go into, then eventually go out of business and are replaced with a corporate based store. Loads of money being pumped into cities and seeing it’s effect on the neighboring towns. Knowing the city is watching you even when you trim on an elevated pavement while wakling. The author makes me think of all my previous experiences of living in the city and I can fully relate to this. I would recommend this to anyone who still has a great appreciation for city life regardless of how much things change and for those who have not experienced living in the city before.
