My thoughts about today’s video

From the video what was interesting was that writing that were being read by multiple people needed more copies. So they were traced by illiterate women, but the supply of copies couldn’t keep up with the demand of the readers. That was when the creation of the first printer came to be and font.

    Hi, Seraphina, Yes. You are right. The need for more copies meant that hand-written manuscripts couldn’t keep up with the demand—which led to Gutenberg’s invention of movable type. Although it is thought that most scribes were monks, you are right again: it seems that many women were scribes. An article in the link below discusses the role of women in writing.
