The 5th image middle bottom book cover cathes my attention based on the typeface. “JB” on the cover has a lot of weight to the letters making it stand out more than the name of the author. The leading space on the “JB” seem to be -20pt based on how close the J and the B seem to be touching. it isn’t hard to read since it is only two letters but it makes it unique to look at as the cover of a book supposed to catch the eye. there is also a lot of white space on the cover as you can see on the bottom it makes it seemed like the text are align to the top left as the “B” fulling does not fit on the cover. The name of the author on the cover doesn’t follow a horizontal path making it eye catching, it is made this way so it isn’t easier to read and instead we have to put the effort to read it.

You’ve chosen an arresting cover, Brandon, and described it well.
A clarification: the space between the large “J” and “B” would be the tracking—or more accurately, kerning (which adjusts the space between letters). “Leading” is interlinear space (space between lines of text).
