One interesting fact that I discovered was that due to the modernization of typography and type faces, the printing press business emerged tremendously.

I find it interesting that scrolls were used until papyrus booklets become *the* new normal. Also, that webpages weren’t interactive at some point.

  3. Marley Rodriguez

I learned that through history the fonts had to be adapted to the civilization that It belonged to. Plus Interesting enough new techniques were made to further go with the new font and how It came about.

One fact I have interest in is that typography contracted typefaces for the printing press and as the printing press develop so did the typefaces, this come to the fact that digital devices are being used more with different screen size so there’s a lot of ways to express word in different front (typeface).

Something I did not know was that after the scroll was made, they’d make the alphabet based on the sound a letter it would make. As well, got a better understanding between calligraphy (being the art of writing) and typography (being the craft of constructing typefaces).

What i had found to be interesting was the change of the stance for type, for the monks situation in particular as the technology for to mass produce scriptures had improves the type would have changes too accompany that development.

  7. Santiago Torres

One interesting thing I saw in the video was how the computers led to a new font being created and how that led to promotion for online media rather than physical new papers and magazines.

  8. Christian Guillaume

One fact i found to be interesting was how webpages would often have the same appearance of newspapers without being interactive. This led to the font being created for webpages to become more interactive and have better usability compared to older versions.

Yes, Christian. Interactivity is a fairly recent (in the overall march of time!) phenomenon. Fonts are used on interactive web pages; and to clarify, it’s more the coding than the font that leads to interactivity.
