Tre Seals is an award-winning graphic designer and typographer located in Washington, D.C. Seals launched Vocal Type. This diversity-driven font was a result of the lack of diversity in the industry. There was also a lack of creative vocals. It was the start of creating the typefaces. This typeface highlights the pieces of history and helps underrepresented groups in society whether that be race, ethnicity, or gender, and even becoming a part of a movement with the BLM protest.

I chose him because of his designs on Wendell & Wild and his ability to create a typeface that encapsulated the tone of the project he was working on. The mismatch and serif give off this cartoonish feeling to it. How he was able to get the inspiration for the typeface from the triangular shape of the characters. I find it to be a very smart way to go about making the typeface as he looked for the strongest attribute of the film and managed to translate that into the typeface. I want to be able to distinguish the core details to help decide what typefaces I use for my projects. Even make my typeface stand out and help fit the tone of the project I’m helping with.
