Abulfaraj is known for her innovative approach to design, including the creation of “Akwan,” which means “Universes” in Arabic. This project consists of mini playgrounds crafted with components shaped like letters from the Arabic alphabet, making learning Arabic fun and engaging for children.

I chose to do research on Lujain Abulfaraj because I was impressed by the “Akwan” project, that makes learning Arabic enjoyable for children. Her work is meaningful to me because it demonstrates how design can preserve and promote cultural heritage while being interactive and modern. Her use of Arabic calligraphy and typography honors tradition and creatively transforms it, and this inspiring for me as a designer.
