When it comes to the education, I believe it’s a very important part in our life. Everything we do is an education, from learning how to read to learning how to construct or treat something, and without the common knowledge, we wouldn’t evolve to this point, because knowledge and experience are passed from generation to generation. When I think of school, I have mixed thoughts because half of my life I studied outside of the US and I had way different environment of leaning. In my country, teachers use favoritism, and even if you don’t really study, those teachers won’t fail you. So when I used to live in my country, I didn’t really care about education because the government is corrupted, you can bribe a principle and he/she will give you diploma, and you will end up in a good university. But, when I came to the US, everything was flipped. I started trying and put all my effort because I knew if I want to get a scholarship, get into a decent college, I should work hard. Overall, education taught me to be impetuous, patient and responsible.

Sophiya,
This is such an intriguing brainstorm! I love that you set up this contrast between your country and the US in terms of the education process. Now it’s time to get specific.
Think about starting your draft with a description (with full details) about what it was like to be a student in your native country. First of all, in which country did this take place? Describe your age, the look of the classroom, the obvious favoritism going on in a particular classroom & how this affected your motivation.
Then spend a paragraph talking about a specific experience in the US– do the same thing in terms of detailed description.
After you work to produce details for both situations– spend a paragraph doing a compare and contrast of the two experiences. The differences between the two experiences will probably be obvious, but are there any simliarities? Are there any parallels that you didn’t expect?
I’m looking forward to reading your rough draft!
