The Brooklyn Bridge
This photo was taken on September 10, 2014 when I first started exploring around City Tech. Its significant to me because of how long and old the bridge looks after being built for many years. This was the first time I had actually visited and took the time to watch the bridge. In the photo, it shows it was a breezy mid-day because the water is being moved slightly and there are big clouds coming. If you look carefully you can see someone else acknowledging the bridge straight down. This photo is also significant for that it shows a path going into Manhattan from Brooklyn.

I took this photograph on my first day of college,me and my friend william came out the vorhees building and decided we wanted to see what was around our school. The photo shows a clear blue sky and perfect view of the manhattan bridge and what pops out most to me, is how blue the water looks. If you've ever been to the brooklyn bridge park area and seen the east river you would know its dar from blue, so it just intrigued me that in this photo it came out so blue. i like how the panorama effect on my iPhone really brought out the length of the bridge and width of the river.

Municipal Building Brooklyn

Municipal Building Brooklyn

I have never stepped my foot out to the real Brooklyn and when I did, I went no further than just sight seeing a few buildings behind the City Tech College. My friend Silma and I walked past this beautiful column building on Joralemon Street and Adams Street Brooklyn Bridge Boulevard. This building rewinded my memories way back to ninth grade when my teacher was teaching us about ancient Egyptian architecture in Global History class. Our class used to roll the paper to make columns and tape the bottom to the table to create support for an imaginary flat paper ceiling. We would then present our column projects in front of class and repeat some random facts from the internet. The only fact that I still remember saying was, ” The columns are a compression member for a architectural structure” I feel like a genius remembering this one fact way back from ninth grade but I still struggle to remember the definition of compression.

A View Of Brooklyn

brooklyn

This photograph was taken on October 7th, 2014 on my way home from City Tech. Out of the many photos I took, this was the most appealing to me. This photo was taken between Fulton Avenue and Adam Street. The part of the photo that was capturing to me was the sky. The clouds and the sun overpowered the whole picture and the background of the buildings made the photo perfect. Usually Brooklyn is very busy however when this was captured, no one was in the picture. Also, there was no filter used on this photo.

In the background you can see downtown Brooklyn and Governors Island. In the photo you can see an arrange of colors in the sky. From blue to pink the colors in the sky made me feel calm and relaxed.

An Outlook Through The Window

photo

I took this photo on my way to City Tech on the ferry early this afternoon October 7th, around approximately twelve o’clock. You can tell it was taken in the early afternoon because it is still fairly cloudy outside. In this photo you can see New York’s buildings. The reason for taking this photo is to especially see the Freedom Tower. The tower stands tall overpassing the other buildings. This photograph literally makes me feel a sense of pride in our country. The standing out of this tower reminds me everyday how resilient New York and our country has become. I get a proud feeling looking at this tower, I see it everyday coming to and from college. The frame of this photo is looking through the small space in between the ferry window. No filters were added to this photo.

View of justice

20141006_154551

This photograph is mainly about a building holding the USA’s flag. In addition, there is a parked car and a tree next to this building, and some people walking by it. Even though the sky was clear, the photograph was kind of dark, and this was due to lack of light. Finally, there is a lady on top of the building which signifies justice.

A View Down Johnson Street

I took this photograph while walking to the train station from City Tech on October 6th at around four in the afternoon, facing west down Johnson Street. Its a ground level view of Johnson Street flanked by the Kings County Court building to the right, the City Buildings to the left and the corner of the U.S. Post Office building on Adams Street far back. Because I took the photograph in the shade the back of the picture looks very warm. The frame of the picture ends short of the Jay Street side walk. I think the photograph contains a lot of lines running towards the middle of the frame giving it an unrealistic sense of depth, the three main lines are the edge of the sidewalk along the pillars, where the court building meets the sidewalk on the left, and the edge of the raised section of city tech building on the right.

Bright Lights, New York City

Pier Jane

This picture was taken on October 06, 2014, around 9:30 pm near a pier at Jane’s Carousel.  It is located at the park entrance on Dock Street or Main Street in Brooklyn. Me and a friend of mine decide to go for a random walk. That walk got us closer to the pier, where the view of the city was just stunning. How the lights of the city  was being reflected on the water was the what got me in this picture on how bright New York City actually is. The Freedom Tower stands out more in this picture because it’s the tallest building in the picture itself and one of the buildings that are lit up the most. This photo makes me feel relaxed and some relief, like all the pressure of the day went away. There was no filter used when this picture was taken which surprised me the most when it came out to look just right.

New York City View From the Ferry

IMG_8033

I took this picture on October 7, 2014 on the ferry ride coming home from City Tech. You can see all the buildings including the Empire State Building. I love the contrast of color that there is from the clouds, the trees, the water and the different buildings. My favorite thing about this photo is the little white boat passing by.You can almost see the movement of the waves in the water from the boat. It was early in the afternoon so the lighting in the picture is pretty bright. I did not use any filter on this photo. This photo makes me feel happy and calm because I know that after the 25 minute ferry ride I will be home.
