Two New Yorks

I chose the Supreme Court of New York State and the Christopher Columbus statue in Cadman Plaza because they are both just a few years apart but the court house was thought of years before the sculptor of the Columbus monument was even born.  The supreme court house represents law and order, and as we know Columbus represents freedom and discovery.  Laws are made and bills are passed, as well as decisions for a case, whatever the matter is, this is a very important place to be in or around.  You can feel the importance when you’re around the park. The Columbus statue has a new New york vibe and feel because it looks out of place in a way. It should be where it was originally meant to be which was in Central Park but instead it was put in Downtown Brooklyn in 1971. The Supreme Court has so much history attached to it that it makes it way other then when it was officially opened til now.

To get to the Supreme Court you leave City Tech by the Namm entrance/exist, head down to Johnson Street/ Tech Pl. all the way down to Cadman Plaza West.  Then after that you cross the park, in front of you you will see the Borough Hall building, turn to your left once you are between Montague Street and Greenpont.
