2/2 Making illustrations
I’ve been designing desktop and mobile screens for an educational child care company.
Today I worked on some illustrations for a homepage.
It’s still in progress. I’m going to change the colors and add texture on them.
They are the complete illustrations that I created. As the company provides STEM educators for kids aged 1 to 10 years old, I made these illustrations with child friendly colors. Then I put these illustrations on a homepage so the customers will be able to recognize what kid of education we provide at a first glance.
In the meantime, I designed an email template and a job flyer for educators.
02/03/2017 Reviewing HTML Links
Our developers provided test link of some screens that the back-end has been configured. So I reviewed some screens and commented what needs to be revised for developer.
Since we work correspondently, It’s hard to explain things in typing. In addition to that, we have 12 hours time difference. So oftentimes things don’t go on time smoothly.
Hopefully we can launch the website by the end of February.
As I’ve been reviewing the HTMLs, I often get surprised how different developers and designers are. It seems like they don’t really understand what designers care about. For example, tracking, colors, and spacing etc… most of these things don’t exist on screens when they did front-end and ask us for review. This is one of the main reasons why it took a while to get the front-end done. This experience makes me want to learn coding. It would be so much easier for the company if they hire people who can do both design and coding when it comes to UX.
We’re now in the stage of configuring back-ends, so I hope we could get all things done in this month.
