Internship Week 5 Entry

2/22,23,24

For these three days, I carefully tested our website as a parent user and a provider user.
I found many critical problems on a booking request and a schedule flow which are the main functions of our website. Since New York office team and Vietnam team (developers) work correspondently, I feel like we haven’t been able to communicate with them effectively. We use Trello to provide feedbacks and assign tasks between designers and developers, but it could’ve been better to have developers next to us and work alongside. Also the time we have to write out the feedbacks is not really effective. I could tell them feedbacks a lot faster by speaking as I’m not good at writing… but it’s been a good way to practice writing!

Speaking of Trello, this is the first time I’ve used Trello and I really like how handy this application is. Trello is a collaboration tool that organizes your projects into boards. In one glance, it tells you what’s being worked on, who’s working on what, and where something is in a process. It’s great for employees who work correspondently.

There are initially 6 developers but recently they added more people to the team and now there are 10 developers as we rush to launch our website. They are working really hard but one thing that dragging us down is that they say that they finished making changes based on our feedbacks without checking if they work. I think they don’t test as a user but just code to fix problems so that’s why there are many times that the feedbacks we provided don’t apply after developers say “We changed it and now it’s ready.”

We’ve started telling them to check the function before telling us they finished applying feedbacks on screens. Otherwise we couldn’t launch our website forever… we’re already one month behind so I will keep working hard to make it to next launching day.
