Hello, my name is Rika, a graphic designer, a typomaniac, and a minimalist. I was born in Japan and currently residing in Brooklyn NY. Majoring in Communication Design at City Tech, I expect to graduate with an Associate degree in 2017. Before I came to the United States, I studied graphic design at VANTAN Design Institute in Tokyo with ambitions to become an editorial designer.

My strong interest in magazines is what lead me to the graphic design industry. Through the years of education and work, I have developed interest in wider aspect of graphic design. Initial passion for editorial design still prevails, but interest in packaging design and logo design also sparked, after emerging in the design culture in New York City. Although more often demanded to work on digital basis, I have a special love to work with paper as well. I am currently working in a start up business in Manhattan as a Graphic Designer Intern.
