After reading ” Shitty First Draft ” by Anne Lamott my view on writing as a process has changed only a tad bit. The particular reason for this circumstance is that I already had an idea that the first two drafts of your writing can be the most helpful. It changed my view a little bit because I never realized that even the best writers doesn’t come up with what to write out of the blue. Whenever I had to write an essay about me or something that happened in my life i always don’t know what to write, it’ll take me almost to an hour to come up with at least an intro. While I was reading I couldn’t help to notice that me and the author has some similarities. Like when she talks about what she usually writes on her first draft and how bad it should be at first because its a drafts and that’s when you write what’s on your mind, and then how some things that you wrote in the first drafts can be used for your final draft. I would always use that strategy in high school for any big essay and it will help me complete my final draft.

“Shitty first drafts”
After reading “shitty first drafts’ by Anne Lamott, my views on writing as a process hasn’t really changed much. She let readers know that no writing is perfect and no one gets it write for the first time. She also stated that sometimes people assume writers just write with confidence and write a great sentence at once when its a different case in reality. Lamott’s writing process is similar to mines because she starts her fist draft with unnecessary information. This is similar to my writing because I tend to not take first drafts serious. This the draft where I jot down things that I have in mind whether is bullet form or an essay. Then the second draft she edits it and add things that she has to say to be more specific. Lastly, the third draft is basically where she revises any mistakes made. One of the process she uses that I would consider adding to my own is using a colored pen in order for her to take out everything thats needed for a second draft. I personally would use this process in my writing because its a good way in organizing the important details for the second draft.
“Shitty First Drafts” – Alkid Lala
After reading “Shitty first drafts.” By Anne Lamott, it gave me clarity on how to write drafts. She reassured me that writing a shitty first draft is okay, normal, and totally convenient to do so. In the first draft, she made it clear that it can be any kind of writing you want, regarding the topic. It can be a terrible writing because no one is ever going to see your first draft anyway. It allows you to lay down all the things that come first in your head. The second draft allows you to accurately correct yourself and pick up some good writings you made in your first draft. In the 3rd and final draft, that will allow you to write an excellent draft making it even more accurate and impactful to the reader. In conclusion, she said that writing down shitty drafts will help you end up with a better final draft because it will help you see your mistakes and allow you to adjust.
There are 2 steps in her process that I do not currently use. One is writing “shitty drafts”. I’ve always get stuck in the middle of the 1st paragraph just looking at the screen, going back and forth to the question, and trying to think of meaningful answers. From now on, I am going to consider writing “shitty drafts” and just laying down all my ideas and then try to perfect it on my 2nd and 3rd drafts. The 2nd step is going over my final process. What I will do is give myself a day or 2 to clear my head and examine my writing to look for any errors or adjustments. In conclusion, this essay has helped my see my mistakes and helped me acknowledge that even professional writers make mistakes and are somewhat stuck on their first draft so the best thing to do is to write a draft that will clear your head and then go over it and see your mistakes so that you can perfect it on your next drafts.
