My essay in Unit 2 was centered around millennials defying the odds and taking over the entrepreneurial industry. The rise of more and more millennials starting their own business and creating multiple streams of income was what initially piqued my interest in this topic. As the years progresses, more young people have been looking for other opportunities to replace their 9-5 jobs and fire their bosses and as such, I believe this topic would be suitable for the intended audience.
The targeted audience for the essay is millennials, as well as people who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs. The genre I decided to use to bring my information across is the use of a blog. From here I will be sharing stories of millennials I know personally that become extremely successful as entrepreneurs as well as why they made the decision to venture in that area. I believe this genre would be ideal for the intended audience not only because of the informal style used for expression, but also because of how personal and relatable blogs are. Additionally, the use of graphics or images would also play a part in making the writing a bit more intriguing as millennials are also visual beings.
