Educational Narrative ( first draft )

” You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret to your success is found in your daily routine “. I realized in order to become successful at anything in life you must break the negative habits of yourself. My life was changed dramatically just by listening to Dr. Joe Dispenza audiobook titled ” Breaking the negative habits of yourself” because i wanted to change the negative habits of procrastination, time management and self doubt.

Procrastination was a major achilles heel for myself since i could remember. I procrastinated for years trying to get back into school, using excuses like having kids or working full time to stop myself from going back to obtain a degree. In spite of the negative habit, i’ve always been an ambitious individual who wanted more out of life. Therefore, the moment i discovered Dr. dispenza audiobook it totally shifted my mindset in turn changing my perspective on the negative habit instead of allowing it to continue to hamper me by OVERCOMING YOUR ENVIRONMENT. Dr. dispenza says your environment shapes you either in a negative or positive way, so if your not helping yourself mentally then everything that happens in your reality will be negative.

Time management and i did not mix well like oil and water. The relationship was so bad it nearly cost me my job and potentially a career as an optical manager or ophthalmologist within the company. That horrible experience, which was created by my inability to STAY IN THE MOMENT when a situation arose or not preparing myself the night before, having my clothes pressed or not getting enough sleep at night. I made a promise to myself that i would improve my tardiness in which i did because i was able to take advantage of my jobs college retention program to make my dream a reality.

Self doubt is not only challenging to overcome but is difficult to get the healing process started. Self doubt stems from past negative experiences that is embedded in your subconscious which is hard to shake. As a kid, i was mischievous and did not want to listen, my care giver for the moment while my mom was out and about or at work would always say anything negative because of my behavior. Some of those negative words stuck in my head which made me act up some more at times depending on my mood. I never tackled those past emotions dealing with family members or friends of my mother calling me out my name which then lead to me of dropping out of school among other reasons as well. With all that said, i over came with the help of my closed family members, they would tell me  ” just to stick with it ” go at your pace ” or ” theres no timeline on anyones success “. Affirmations or cliches got me to this point of my life where i’m back into school ( college ) for the first time in over a decade on my way to my first degree and onto a better life.

In conclusion, my life was altered the day i decided to change who i was as a person by changing the negative habits so that i could give my self a chance to become successful in life one day. Even though the road might be slick or the odds stacked up against you if your mindset is a positive one you could overcome anything in your life because anything you think of most you start to become it. Basically, your perception creates your reality so instead of thinking negativity all the time, let positivity reign supreme.
