Live Well Session 3

I am on contemplation for all three categories. This makes sense because with the schedule I have, I don’t have much time to do anything. For exercise and stress management, I plan on doing more once classes end. For eating, I’m still trying to eat healthier and trying to incorporate more fruits into my diet.

Live Well Session Two

This nutrition post couldn’t have came at a better time. About a month ago, I got food poisoning over a weekend and I think it was from some under cooked meat. I think this was a reset for my eating habits. Since then, I really started to cut meat out of my diet or if I do eat meat, I cook/order it well done. I’ve started to try to include vegetables in every meal I eat and started to eat a lot more eggs especially for breakfast. I’ve cut out a lot of sugars from my diet and started to eat more fruits and nuts, especially pistachios. I’ve also started to walk my dog in the morning daily for at least 30 minutes instead of waiting for my brother to do it later.

LiveWell 1st Session

I would say my 1st session went well. For exercise, I am in the precontemplation phase which I knew already. I always have the urge to go to the gym or to run outside but I never do. For healthy eating, I am in the contemplation phase. I am slowly but surely trying to eat healthier by cutting out sugar from my diet as much as possible and eating less processed foods, especially processed meats which contain a lot of nitrates that can affect my asthma. I try to consume dairy products but I believe that there are other ways to get calcium and vitamin D without drinking milk or eating yogurt, cheese, etc. I believe that we shouldn’t be consuming milk past our infant-toddler ages but that’s just me. For stress management, I am in the action phase. I’m always stressed so I’m always looking for ways to relieve that whether it be taking walks or just sleeping. Overall, I think LiveWell can help in the long-run and give me that push to better myself.

Active Minds Post

I think it’s great what this organization is doing. I didn’t know that there are so many students that are so stressed while attending school to the point where they want to end their lives. Active minds provides a lot of support to people to who need it. They make you aware of general health information for individuals and families together. They also provide some financial support which is great. They are really striving to educate people about mental health problems and how to find solutions to those problems. They provide so much information and help for someone who is in need.
