   1–Is the title of the poem and full author’s name provided in the first or second sentence? Be specific if something is missing.

   -Yes -“New York Subway” is a poem written by Hilda Morley.
   2–Does the student provide the two lines he or she will explicate?

   Yes, “The beauty of people in the subway that evening, Saturday, holding the door for whoever”
   3–What poetry terms does the student examine?

   Explication and enjambment, and maybe symbolism? It would be amazing if you can elaborate on how enjambment is implied to the poem, and express symbolism in a more structural and direct way.
   4–Copy and paste your two favorite sentences from the students essay. Then explain why you like them. (example: not only is this an example of the college sentence, this sentence highlights an important poetry term (metaphor) in a very clear way–I get it completely)

   I really enjoy the last line of the explication and express a deep resonance with the idea that we can really bring warmth and encouragement to help others out from their hardship through our kindness and help.
   “Everyday people face many choices in life in which deciding on doing a good deed, whether it’s a life changing situation or just for the moment. As we continue to help one another out of kindness, the choices we make can encourage others.”

   “I will explicate a few lines in the poem, it will show you how the symbol of kindness can also be a type of character.” what line? kindness= type of character？ what character?

(example: expand the range of connotations rather than name one connotation; example: instead of using the verb “like” three time in the first paragraph, consider different varying the idea by using “love” or “can relate to”; example: when you revise this, change the lower case “i” to “I”–Prof. Scanlan will definitely say something about that.)

   It would be wonderful if you can explain more on how enjambment is applied to the line in poem?

   You mentioned the poetic terms explication and enjambment. But, I think maybe symbolism and imagery as well.

   “The beauty of people in the subway that evening, Saturday, holding the door for whoever”. She explains how people holding the door for someone rushing for the train or giving up your seat for an elderly person are good deeds and she also telling readers that we can also learn to preform good act from each other.

   I like how you described what is the actions that the speaker does and how it has an effect on people or how we can learn from them.

   I will explicate a few lines in the poem, it will show you how the symbol of kindness can also be a type of character. Also as I read the poem, I saw how explication and enjambment was used as she describes what’s around her.

   I think you should add the lines you will be explicating as this sentence is a bit confusing.

   You should expand on the connotation and mention the lines you will explicate at the beginning of your paragraph. Also, I believe you mentioned about talking about her surroundings maybe you can add imagery as another poetic term you can examine.
