A free, three-day training program for CUNY students who are interested in internships and careers in the fields of energy efficiency & energy management services, corporate sustainability, facilities management, operations, engineering, and public policy.
We have paid internships available this summer and fall and we’ll be recruiting from our Energy Boot Camp graduates – if you’re interested in gaining professional experience in this field.
The 7th annual Energy Boot Camp for CUNY students will be held Wednesday – Friday, May 30-June 1, 9am – 4pm. You must be currently enrolled as a CUNY student to be eligible and you must attend all 3 days of the boot camp. However, we can make exceptions if you have class or work commitments – please be sure to explain that in the last question, below.
To be considered for participation in the Energy Boot Camp, please fill out this application and email your resume to cunybpl@gmail.com. Applications are due by 5pm on Friday, May 18th. Accepted students will be notified the week of May 21st. Space is limited so the sooner you apply, the better.
Eligibility
To be considered for a Building Performance Lab (BPL) paid internship position this summer or fall, students must apply and be accepted to the Energy Boot camp, and must attend all 3 days of training. Completing the energy boot camp is a prerequisite for BPL internship, unless a student has completed at least one academic course focused on energy-in-buildings (ex: Building Energy Modeling, HVAC, Low-Energy Design). Note that not all those who participate in energy boot-camp will be placed in an internship- but the training you’ll get will be valuable in your career!
