Michelle Aviles, Poems (revised)

-A Tough Ride

To love yourself is like a riding a rollercoaster,

You feel your heart go all the way to the floor at some point

And then come back up.

-To Do Is Not

To win does not mean you’re finished,

To lose does not mean you’ve failed,

To try and to thrive is what matters most in this messed up thing called our lives.

-My Love Is Not

My love for you is not eternal

But one can only hope,

My love for you is not faultless

But one can only dream,

My love for you is not perfect

But that is just fine with me.

-A Tiring World

I’ve always wondered what I would experience in this life

Hardship, cruelness, loss

Sometimes I’d wish I didn’t live in this world,

But if not this world then what world

I’m tired

I’m tired

I do not wish for death but I am tired.

What I enjoyed about Michelle’s poetry is the message it conveys and how it teaches you a part of life.

I agree with the previous comment. Your poems seem to have a hidden message about different aspects of life.

I thought My Love Is Not was very deep. No one is perfect and loving someone is not perfect. People have this ideal of what love is supposed to be and what it should look like. We all show and express love in our own way, shape and form.

Your poems all seem to have a meaning that gives a life lesson in some way and if not that they seem to reflect something you have experienced. I enjoy that they have some sort of meaning to them that may tie to your personal expereinces.
