Fnu Janvi, A formal critique of Gurba’s work.

We all know she was a really aggressive writer as she used false language, which I really don’t want to write in my Critique. I think this is really not the right way that a book writer should write because that puts a negative impression on the reader. I didn’t mean to say I didn’t like her writing, it is just I never expected that a writer could curse in their book or article. I definitely liked her work because I can relate to her and felt her emotions in her writing. How I relate to her writing because when I face discrimination from society, I also felt the same as Gurba and want to reply as she did in her writing, but I don’t have the guts or confidence to says on people face. she used the messiah, which is a Hindi language word because I know that language, which I did not expect that really grab my attention. Also,  she used other words from a different language to grab other people’s attention as well. I felt she was mock by everyone, such as society, even her family. That’s might the reason why she is aggressive and built a new character for herself. In the end, she’s happy and confident about herself; she does not care what other people think about her, which I really like. My question is when she will write her next article, will she use the False language or it will be more professional English writer does in their article?

I understand how she feels too because I face the same thing. The author didn’t go about it professionally and she was very blunt about this issue with the cummins’s novel. The curse words caught me off guard and the fact that the started off in a angry manner.

I feel the same in a way. It felt very odd to read. But by the end of it, she made a really good point which I came to enjoy and respect.

I disagree with the fact that you think the way Gurba approached the situation was wrong. If her writing was in an actual book or in a newspaper then I’d see the problem. However, I think that Gurba has every right to use the language she did in her writing seeing as what the author did. Cummins was representing Gurba’s people incorrectly and she has the right to express that anger. I agree with everything else you said though.
