Poetry is a way many express themselves which is great and all, but it’s not for me personally. I’ve always had a difficult time understanding poets and their similes, metaphors, etc. There can be many interpretations of a poem that can be interesting but it gets overwhelming trying to understand what’s going on. For example, Shakespeare’s writing was confusing, it’s understandable I don’t think he made his writing easy to understand but I want things to get straight to the point. Writing them was not as bad of an experience as reading them, but I had to think about giving the poem meaning. I feel like there are other ways for me to express myself that isn’t poetry.

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
