I really liked how the author went in to detail with this short story and she properly describes the setting. One of my favorite quote from the story stated “She passes through the doors and I can still hear the loud sounds of her shoes. And even when the teacher turns me toward the classrooms and I hear what must be the singing and the talking of all the children in the world, I can still hear my mother’s footsteps above it all.” This quote I like so much because it brings my memories of when my mother did the same thing to me when she first registered me into school and how I kept thinking about her even after she left.
